[August Kindermann (1817-1891) was the ranking German bass in Munich who created several roles in world premieres, including Wotan in DIe Walküre and Das Rheingold, and also major roles in Lortzing's operas, Hans Sachs and Der Wildschütz. His autograph is extremely rare, this being the first example we have seen.]
